My name is Ania. I have been a practicing witch since 1999. I started this website as a place to host my personal witchcraft blog and to chronicle my ongoing relationship with my magical practice online. However, as I have become more active in online magical communities, I have moved most of my personal blogging to other, more social platforms. Rather than deleting this website, I have decided to use this online space to do some good in the witchcraft community by dedicating it to creating and sharing free posts and information on what I call Old-Style Traditional Witchcraft (sometimes known as β€œlowercase-t traditional witchcraft”) and the study of traditional folk magic (defined on this website as the magical folkways and traditions of a particular culture, region or group of people). This is a space inspired by the online Books of Shadows of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. The magic here is vastly different from what was available online at that time, but I hope that this website contains the same spirit of knowledge-sharing that made the Witchy Small Web of that era so helpful to me as a young witch.

Site Updates: Welcome back! The site has been offline for some time whilst i tackled the task of editing and reworking many of the posts on it (after amicably parting ways with my previous co-writer and editor). The content of the posts and site remain mostly the same; however, I have revised many of the posts to remove additions that were not my own and changed the site's name from hagstone witchery to slewfootwitch to reflect its change to a personal website. the course that was previously available here has also (temporarily) been removed for similar revision and reworking. it will be available here for free when it is finished. thanks for your patience and understanding.

This website is my way to give back to the witchcraft community, and to help others (just like the Small Web spaces that existed in 2000 and 2001 helped me to find my footing during my first few years as a solo witch). The resources you will find here are the fruit of decades of personal practice, spirit work, and long-term study. It is all offered here for free in the spirit of contributing to the collective well of magical knowledge.

While the writings here do not always reflect my own magical practice (some of which is extremely private due to the rules that guide my folk magic), they do reflect my personal magical perspective. They are shaped by my own magical worldview and personal gnosis. Nothing presented here is intended to prescribe β€œthe right way” to practice witchcraft or the correct way to live a magical life. What I hope is to offer one grounded, spirit-led approach among many, shared with the world so that it may inspire and inform others on their own traditional magic paths.
